On Easter Sunday, March 31st, we welcomed descendants of Agnes Wenke and Ray Smith for a tour of Walla Walla as part of their family reunion weekend. We commenced the tour with a visit to the family graves in the Walla Walla Cemetery. They listened to the inscriptions read in German and then translated into English.
We then proceed to the church and surrounds. They heard the story of the Trek, viewed the wagon and enjoyed Craig playing the pipe organ for them. Other stops on our tour included the site of A. J. Wenke’s Powerhouse, the water tower mural and finishing with a visit to Date Palm Hill homestead.
